Brežice

The town of Brežice, which originated on a hill at the confluence of the Sava and Krka rivers, is located in the southeastern part of Slovenia and got its name from this location. Its rich history dates back to the Middle Ages when it was a strategic center between the Habsburgs and the Ottoman Empire. Brežice Castle and the old town center testify to the town's significant past.
